WELCOME TO ELITE!
Rooted in the vibrant soil of Busia, Western Kenya, ELITE is
more than an organization; we are a feminist powerhouse. We exist to ensure gender
diverse womxn and sex workers are unapologetically Seen, Heard, and Held.
From a grassroots whisper to a formidable roar, we have evolved into a force for
systemic change. We champion bodily autonomy, safety, and agency, transforming
beneficiaries into architects of their own futures.
Inclusive Gender Futures
Centering diverse voices: We equip LBQ leaders through digital activism and
feminist bootcamps to influence policy and dismantle harmful binaries.
Shifting Narratives: We engage media and cultural leaders to challenge
stereotypes and shape public discourse.
Civic Action: We conduct inclusive civic education to ensure gender-diverse
persons claim their space in political and social decision-making.
Feminist Health Equity
Healing as Resistance: We provide radical mental wellness support and trauma-
informed counseling as a political act of preservation.
Justice-Oriented Care: We offer inclusive Sexual and Reproductive Health and
Rights (SRHR) services and HIV prevention, ensuring bodily autonomy.
Transforming Systems: We train healthcare providers to move beyond basic
access to offering dignified, stigma-free, and gender-affirming care.
Safe and Affirming Communities
Institutionalizing Safety: We run the region's only LBQ-focused Safe House and
rapid response networks to protect those fleeing persecution.
Building Alliances: We engage non-traditional allies—including police and boda-
boda riders—to turn potential threats into a localized infrastructure of care.
Collective Care: We foster environments where safety is the foundation of
agency, ensuring no one faces violence alone.
